winters past
fresh in the mind
snowflakes


mother's diary
found in the attic
she was young once too


no snow today
memories of past winters
southern living


hand in hand
tiny foot prints on sandy shore
chasing clouds


in this cold bed
your warmth surrounds me
winter winds


winter storm
parking lot seagulls
far from the sea


chasing clouds
brisk morning breezes
refreshing the spirit


chasing clouds
sun and moon play tag
cool morning jog



winters past
fresh in the mind

checking his reflection
the risen sun


sparks of light
your shadow on the wall
burning love letters



boats returning
under crescent moon
the bayou

she pulls his jacket close

Bayou waters

with the tide,


nonchalant
white heron
sits watching

a ray of evening sun

memories more vivid

two years post-Katrina
butterfly crawling out his cocoon
landscape still scarred

heron on a cypress knee
black bass on high alert

scud across evening sky

quest for haiku

on my nose
begging not to be swatted
pesky fly


miscarriage forgotten
November buds
double joy

cherished treasures
nested silver boxes
the Chinese alchemistmy



potted ivy
the luna moth
takes refuge


street vendor
bar-b-que squid
and soba rama



sunset tranquility
heart pounding still
birth of a son


experts everywhere
rules made to be broken
write rewrite

breaking all the rules

yellow butterfly
trys to hide
among pink impatiens


entering one way
illeviating traffic congestion
leaving another

loosing all her friends
gaining wisdom
because of winn dixie


fresh plowed fields
the smell of biscuits
a new day begins

a child's cupped hands
a kitchen tap


white egret watches
rain dropped surface

petunia in a pot
growing larger everyday

served on grandmother's fine china

my tea pot
has another cup
inside






time standing still
the wall clock
needs winding
